ATM line puts on a show in home opener!!!

Behind a great game by the ATM line, Nick "A"nderson, Michael "T"homas and Scott "M"cHaffie, who had 15 points combined, the Ontario Avalanche defeated the Phoenix Knights, 8-3.

Thomas, who led Ontario with a goal and 5 assists, scored 5:04 into the third period to make the score 7-3 Ontario Avalanche. Basil Reynolds picked up the assist. Thomas dished an assist onScott McHaffie's goal that made the score 3-0 Ontario Avalanche at 12:12 into the first period. He then added assists on Marc Janisch's goal at 4:14 into the second, on Nick Anderson's goal at 11:07 into the second, on Anderson's goal at 4:53 into the third, and on McHaffie's goal at 11:51 into the third.


Ontario forced the Phoenix netminders to work hard between the pipes, getting 37 shots and forcing 29 saves. Luke Stripp made 26 stops and Rook Rett made three.

Along with Thomas' six points, the Avalanche additionally got points from Anderson, who racked up two goals and three assists and McHaffie, who registered two goals and two assists. Others who scored for Ontario Avalanche included Paul Ramsey,Austin Lechtanski, and Niklas McPherson. More assists for Ontario came via Brett FernandezAndrew Guzman,Antoine Maillard, and Zechariah Roberts, who contributed one each.

The Knights were helped by Jordan Cullum, who finished with two goals and one assist. Cullum scored the first of his two goals at 13:27 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Ontario. Mitch Cobby assisted on the tally. Cullum's next tally made the score 4-2 Ontario with 2:02 left in the second period. Phoenix had gotten the advantage when Avalanche Captain, Jackson Giammona was sent off for tripping. Cobby picked up the assist. Brennan Johnsson also scored for Phoenix Knights. In addition, Phoenix received assists from Layton Dornn, who had one.

Chris Skeates was credited with the win after making 18 saves for Ontario on 21 shots.
