Avs open season with 3 game sweep of Phoenix!!!

The Phoenix Knights could not stop the Ontario Avalanche's Zechariah Roberts, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-5 win.

Roberts notched his first tally on the power play 1:36 into the first period. He then scored at 3:22 into the second and at 7:35 short-handed.

 

The Avalanche forced the Knights' goaltenders to work hard between the pipes, ripping 51 shots and forcing 41 saves. Luke Stripp made 22 stops andRook Rett made 19.

Ontario additionally got points from Nick Anderson, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Scott McHaffie, who also finished with two goals and two assists, Antoine Maillard, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Niklas McPherson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.Marc Janisch also scored for the Avs. In addition, Ontario received assists from Jackson GiammonaBrett FernandezAdam PlonskiAndrew Guzman, and Sean Plonski, who contributed one each andMichael Thomas and Paul Ramsey, who each chipped in two.

Phoenix was helped by Robert Crisci, who registered two goals. Crisci scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:44 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Plonski had put Phoenix Knights on the power play. Brennan Johnsson picked up the assist. Crisci's next tally on the power play made the score 8-3 Ontario with 29 seconds left in the second period. Dylan Farmer provided the assist. The Knights also got points from Mitch Cobby, who also had one goal and one assist and Jordan Cullum, who also racked up two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for the Phoenix Knights came via Jordan Kaspick, who had two.

Kyle Mugica picked up the win while rejecting 15 shots on goal for the Avalanche.
